Support yachts enhance the superyacht experience, by carrying surplus equipment, tenders and toys, freeing up space onboard the yacht mothership for more guest facilities.
The advantage is that the support yacht can arrive ahead of the owner or the guests, and its crew can have an area already set up. The crew of the mothership therefore can fully dedicate themselves to service.
For a smaller yacht, for instance in the 60m range, the added benefit of a support yacht is that it has all of the utility of a 90m yacht for less cost. If you consider that a new build may cost up to 25% more for the same utility, a support yacht proves itself with real value.
